Steel, aluminum mesh fabric, RGB lighting system, audio installation, Sound composition: Thomas Meyer
“The amorphous, shimmering surface of the installation, consisting of a fine-meshed aluminium grid, shimmers in a wide variety of spectral colours thanks to an RGB lighting system.
The resulting iridescent light reflections recall and propose the phenomenon of bioluminescence, the different coloured glow of marine animals – jellyfish in particular. This phenomenon is classified as a survival and defence strategy but also as a modus to attract mating partners. The artist addresses the theme of metamorphosis, of change, by representing one of the most vital organisms that evolution has ever produced at the cellular level.
The changing appearance of the installation is accompanied by archaic sounds, composed ad hoc and vibrated by a two-headed guitar using a magnet.”
At LIGHT4, we take pride in our role as the technical backbone of this collaboration. Our dedicated team has been instrumental in every stage of the project, from design and development to production and installation. It’s a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation in the realm of lighting.
